CLEPテストって何？

CLEPとはCollege Level Examination Programの略です。
多くのアメリカの大学のDegreeの取得に必要な課目のうち、例えば基本的な数学などの科目を従業に出ないでCLEPの試験を一回受けて合格することによって、クリアすることができるようになっています。試験に合格したらその証書を持って大学のカウンセラー提出して認められるとTransfer Creditとしてその課目は履修が済んだものとしてもらうことが出来ます。以下はCLEPの課目の例。
大学によってTransferを認めるポリシーは違うので、かならずカウンセラーに相談してから受験を考えましょう。

CLEPを認めているCollegeの例

CLEPほど有名ではないが似ているものにDSST(DANTES Subject Standardized Tests)というものがあって、さらに上級レベルの課目などの試験が受けられる。これも学校によってクレジットを受け入れるか否かが違うのでカウンセラーに聞く必要。

またExcelsior collegeという大学の課目をテストでパスして他の大学にトランスファーすることもできる。このクレジットを受け入れている学校のリストは以下。ただしテスト料金はCLEPやDSSTが一課目100ドル以下であるのに対してかなり高くなるようだ。
